NOxCare SCR Marine - System Description
The NOxCare Marine exhaust gas treatment system is based on SCR technology and uses a catalyst together with NOxCare 40, a high purity urea water solution, to reduce NOx emission. The system is installed between the engine and the exhaust outlet. The exhaust gas passes through the catalyst where NOx is converted into harmless nitrogen and water. The system will vary in size depending on the engine size and NOx reduction requirements. Based on your needs, the system will be tailor-made to match the layout of your engine room and casing. To fit the system on retrofits, the silencer some times has to be replaced. A silencer unit integrated to the SCR reactor is also available. The system’s Homogenous SCR Extruded catalyst (Full-Cat) provides even distribution of the catalytically active ingredients in the catalyst material, ensuring long life time and excellent reduction efficiency. A specially designed injector produces a mist of urea droplets avoiding the requirement of a high pressure pump. An additional filter layer traps impurities and the dust blowing systems provide efficient cleaning of the catalyst material, ensuring stable back pressure and extending the life time of the system. The system’s advanced PLC and user friendly interface ensure easy follow up by crew on alarms and separate control of each SCR systems. The NOxCare Marine system is based on a design successfully used since 1991 on more than 50 maritime SCR plants (50 kW to 6 mW installations), and the technology has been continuously improved since then. An in-house R&D is working on new development and constant improvements.
